You cant be banned for something which Anet actively incourages with Legendary Defender of Ascalon! The only possible way to achieve that title at this moment is using death leveling.

How would it be fair, or make sense to ban a persons account for doing something they force you to do.

Plus even if it wasnt required for LDOA, it isnt something they can ban you for. Its not doing anyone any harm, it isnt cheating and it doesnt have any negative side effects. Death leveling is just taking advantage of a part of the game mechanics.

I have to assume you're after LDOA though, other I dont understand why you want to death level?

It takes a long, long, long time to do and its needlessly boring and tedious (I assume due to not ever doing it). It has no advantage over leveling up the normal way! Its quicker to just find creatures above you and kill them.

It is only used in pre-searing for the most part. In pre-searing it is not possible to get beyond level 16 (or 17 in some cases) because if you do none of the quests and only kill monsters you will only get experience from level 14-16 from the four level 10 Charr bosses in the Northlands. Once you hit level 16 no more experience can be obtained from killing monsters. If you do all the quests after reaching level 16 some professions may make it possible to reach level 17 or close.

I am not sure how it was discovered, but my guess is that someone died near a rez shrine, went AFK, and came back to find that the creatures that were killing them had leveled up by killing them repeatedly.

There were people in pre-searing that wanted to get past level 16 (long before the LDOA title) and they put this to the test and found they could gain experience that way. Hence, the first level 20 in pre-searing was eventually obtained, others wanted to do it, and Anet now gives a title for it.

it is actually used in pet rearing also. you let the pet (to be) kill you alot and they raise levels with almost infallible tendency towards dire.

That's the stupidest title and single way to get it I've ever heard of.

Talk about exaggeration. First off I'm not getting physically injured.
Second 'Looking like a shop lifter' Is doing the things a shop lifter does. Looking around a lot. Going to the back of the store/away from cameras. Putting hands/things (that may be YOURS)in your pocket. Wearing a big coat, sun glasses, hat pulled down. There is a damn good reason to be suspicious.
If ANET banned my account & fined me, that would be more accurate to your analogy. A ban is more the equivalent of them taking me aside, questioning me and barring me from the store.

You don't know how they are doing it, that's the point. You are expecting perfection. Impossible, plain and simple.
